me dad is currently making new cattle barriers for over wintering of said cattle and he has done this drawing to plan them
its a thought proccess, a great thing and a representation of the finished barriers
I just wondered about this in reference to steves third breakfast.
Also was wondering about how when we play, imaginative games, make believe stuff in the fields or where ever,
we use what ever is around to represent what we need. For example a bent over twisted opened up willow tree in the field opposite our yard , was for days over a summer a house we climbed in it had a bed , a table and all the other stuff we needed, twigs were knives and forks and grass our food. It grew out of our heads, we built imaginatively in response to dwelling

Interesting idea - we just choose anything to represent anything in a spatial mapping way - bits on our body or twigs or stones. I never thought about how soffisticated this is. The third breakfast has to be an object not a drawing or a photo - it has to be 3 dimensional we worked out this much - a black unpainted cast is the best bet so far - plus we decided we had to cast the plate

I have always been interested in spatial maps.
I realise I am obsessed with them.
I have a child's map of his flat, a bead map, and a Barnsley girls plan of her house as key data in my work.

tell me more about why black cast? i get the remove all the information in terms of colour etc but why black? it says polished granite gravestones quite alot.
i wonder why black , but can kinda see the cast makes sense, other than the first is not a cast, the second is, so why repeat again?

We thought it should be cast as it occupies the same space as the real and the hyperreal breakfast (The real brealfast will be referenced somewhere but probably not in the case. The black is the fact that in colour terms - not meaning terms it's neatral absorbes all light. There is a new paint which is 26 times blacker than black I thought it maight be interesting to use this. The problem is that this isn't really an attempt to reprersent breakfast which thorows a conceptual spanner in the works but it is infact this struggle with the third representation where the work becomes most interesting.

yes the spanner is a problem, because it is here in the making that the change in ideas becomes the problem.
i think the black breakfast says representation of breakfast to the viewer, because it becomes like those weird coloured food expriments eg blue tomato sauce. so as a tool to discuss representation and reading sgns etc it works. But in terms of thinking it feels confused - binary fluffing? it depends what you want
i have a problem still with the fact its a cast.

why problem with cast? if it's about representation rather than interpretation.

because the sweet rock one is not a cast and so to have 2 casts and an odd one out seems unbalanced, for me they would need to be all different or all the same or more than 3.
its a repeat although in black, carve it, make it out of flour dough, spam whatever!! maybe it doesnt really matter
